  2. Call for 2025 Convention Presentations and Activities

The 2025 NFB of Virginia State Convention is heading to Virginia Beach, and we’re looking for passionate presenters, facilitators, and fearless fun-bringers to help us build a weekend that’s rich in learning, bursting with creativity, and full of community spirit.

Whether you’re pitching a professional breakout session, leading a hands-on workshop, or orchestrating an unforgettable after-hours activity, this is your stage.

What We’re Looking For:

  • Thought-provoking panels or interactive discussions

  • Skills-based workshops or demos

  • Tech, advocacy, employment, health, and education-focused content

  • Creative and cultural experiences

  • Interactive social events (think game nights, talent shows, dance sessions, or something entirely new)

No idea is too small—or too bold. From serious topics to seriously fun activities, we want your energy and ideas to help shape this year’s program.

Submit your proposal by August 15, 2025.
Proposals will be reviewed on a rolling basis, so the earlier the better!

Who Are We?

As you may know, the National Federation of the Blind is a non-profit, private sector resource of knowledge, support and encouragement for people who are blind and low vision. We offer training and advocacy to blind people and parents of blind children, and work to remove legal, economic and societal barriers so that blind people can participate fully in employment, education, recreation and all other aspects of community life. Our annual convention is one way we work toward achieving these goals.

Who is the Audience?

Hundreds of blind people, including students, working adults and seniors; parents of blind children; service providers; technology producers/distributors; inventors of products designed to enhance accessibility and independence; and representatives from rehabilitation services, agencies, private agencies for the blind attend our annual convention.
