I Am A:
Youth Track Registration
The Break Parents Need, The Fun Kids Want
You have a blind or low-vision child. We have a thriving network of resources. Imagine what we could achieve together over a weekend in Portsmouth!
Join us for an unforgettable Saturday-or make it a full weekend-on the beautiful waterfront at the NFB of Virginia’s State Convention happening November 1-3. It’s a Saturday filled with fun and learning for your children and their siblings, plus an entire weekend packed with valuable information for parents dedicated to setting their children up for success.
Why Attend?
- Meet New Friends: Could your blind or low-vision child benefit from connecting with other kids who share similar experiences?
- Try Something New: Have they ever tried adaptive sports like blind tennis, created hands on blind designs, drawn braille pictures using a slate and stylus, joined in an audible scavenger hunt, or played accessible video games?
- Hands-On Learning: Learn new skills from experts in the field of blindness.
- Parent-to-Parent Support: Seasoned parents will be there to answer the questions you’ve been hesitant to ask.
- Braille Book Exchange: Swap Braille books and discover your child’s next favorite read!
- Inspiration Everywhere: Meet a wide array of role models from various professions.
- Take Home More Than Memories: Leave with an abundance of information that will be useful long after the convention ends.
Welcome to the beginning of an exciting new chapter in your family’s journey. When the learning is done, explore a city rich in history and modern comforts, making this an unforgettable getaway.
