State Board Meeting Minutes - November 1, 2020

After the Nominating Committee report was delivered by Fred Schroeder, the following individuals were elected to office:

Tracy Soforenko: President

Sandy Halverson: 1st Vice President

Uricka Harrison: 2nd Vice President

Mark Roane: Treasurer

Jacki Bruce: Corresponding Secretary

Mausam Mehta: Recording Secretary

We heard the exciting chapter and division reports outlining the work over the past year from our Chapters and divisions as election votes were being tallied.

We then heard 3 resolutions from the Resolutions Committee:

Resolution 2020-1, regarding DMV state ID card practices

Resolution 2020-2, regarding inaccessible commonwealth Health and Fitness centers

Resolution 2020-3, regarding the accessibility of the Virginia Department of Health website, and other websites sponsored by the commonwealth.

All 3 resolutions were passed.

During resolution voting, we heard entries from the 2020 Convention Minute Memory contest from our fellow Virginians.

Sean McMahon delivered the Audit Committee report, wherein it was stated that all financial transactions and account balances reported by the treasurer could be reconciled with the checking and savings account statements submitted to the affiliate by the treasurer. The Audit Committee report was accepted.

Mark Roane delivered the Treasurer’s report, outlining the balances of the affiliate’s 4 accounts as of September 30, 2020:

VPAD: $24372

Fundraiser: $3168.74

Endowment Fund: $71203.59

General Checking Account: $65827.22

Total Funds: $164571.55

Restricted Funds: $5399.12

Treasurer’s Report was accepted.

Tracy announced that both Richmond and Washington Seminars will be virtual.

Sandy Halverson delivered the SUN Fund report, in which she stated Virginia’s donation of $2610.
